Full Job Description

We are seeking candidates to join our family law team in a hybrid legal assistant/paralegal position. Our office is in downtown Knoxville with indoor parking in our building.

Responsibilities in this position involve directly assisting a team of attorneys with a variety of litigation-related tasks:

Legal research
Draft pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
Perform administrative duties (scheduling/maintaining calendars, maintaining case files, answering phone calls, managing logistics, etc.)
Perform general office duties
Communicate with clients, other attorneys, and court staff
Work with attorneys and clients in discovery and evidence gathering
Assist in trial preparation

Skills

Attention to detail;
Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, etc.;
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
Strong writing and communication skills;
Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, general computer skills including typing;
This position calls for someone who feels confident working with details, has a friendly demeanor, is dependable, and is comfortable working in an office environment. Most importantly, this position requires that you can demonstrate empathy for our clients, who are experiencing sensitive and often difficult circumstances.

This is a full-time position that offers paid vacation benefits, parking, health insurance, and 401(k) with matching employer contributions. Pay commensurate with education and experience.
