Full Job Description

The Opportunity

Individuals who have experienced abuse, trauma, or witnessed domestic violence carry wounds that, if left untreated, can shape their entire lives. At The Open Door Network, we believe every person deserves the chance to heal — and we need a compassionate, skilled clinician to make that happen.

As a therapist, you'll provide life-changing mental health services to adults and children — working at the intersection of trauma-informed therapy, crisis intervention, and community advocacy. This is more than a clinical position; it's a chance to be a consistent, healing presence for Kern County's most vulnerable population.

What You'll Do

Provide Direct Therapeutic Services

Provide trauma recovery and mental health services to victims and their families identified through on-scene crisis calls, and/or during initial investigation interviews.
Deliver individual, group, and family psychotherapy within TODN programs and the broader community who have experienced trauma or witnessed traumatic events.
Screen adults and children for treatment appropriateness; conduct appropriate assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans.
Maintain your caseload and all group therapy assignments as defined by TODN, including open assessments at least twice monthly during weekend hours.
Provide crisis intervention as needed, working effectively in high-stress, high-stakes settings.

Coordinate Care & Community Connections

Develop and maintain a strong network of community resources, acting as a liaison with local agencies, law enforcement, schools, and service providers for client referrals.
Provide case management, mentoring, individualized service plans, referrals and regular follow ups.
Coordinate activities with the Case Manager/Advocate to ensure clients receive wraparound support.
Communicate proactively with partner agencies to connect clients with the services they need.

Maintain Clinical Excellence

Keep thorough, up-to-date records including client intakes, progress notes, statistical data, in-service trainings, and presentations.
Attend weekly Clinical Supervision meetings with LCSW and scheduled Counseling meetings with management.
Support in-service training and consultation for the multidisciplinary team of paraprofessional and professional staff.
Participate in monthly meetings to advocate specific needs, gain feedback, and coordinate services with community leaders that support the individual’s best interest.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of TODN's mission.

What We're Looking For

You'll thrive in this role if you:

Hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
Bring at least 2 years of personal stability free from domestic violence and can hold space for survivors with empathy and professionalism.
Are bilingual in Spanish and English — multilingual skills are a significant plus in our diverse Kern County community.
Hold a valid California Driver's License with current car insurance and your own transportation.
Have working knowledge of community resources and a deep understanding of the dynamics of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
Can maintain a flexible schedule and are willing to work some weekend hours.
Are skilled in biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and trauma-informed care with adults, children and families.
Work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments, collaborating with both paraprofessionals and licensed professionals.
Are committed to client dignity, confidentiality, and culturally responsive care with diverse populations.

Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour
