Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing insights through financial analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll systems, and financial reporting to support the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform general ledger reconciliation related to payroll entries and adjustments.
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee records and benefits administration.
Assist in budgeting processes by providing payroll-related forecasts and reports.
Maintain knowledge of securities law as it pertains to employee compensation and benefits.
Support accounts payable functions by ensuring accurate allocation of payroll expenses.
Prepare reports on payroll metrics for management review, including debits and credits related to payroll transactions.
Stay updated on changes in laws affecting payroll processing and compliance.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in Tax experience filings and compliance issues
Strong accounting skills, detail oriented, proficient in Excel and the full suite of Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, etc.)
Proficient with Mastertax Software
Must be able to create reconciliations that clearly communicate results
Experience reconciling and preparing W-2 forms
Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, co-workers, and clients
