The New Dermatology Group is seeking a motivated and dependable Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our collaborative, patient-focused clinical team.
This role offers the opportunity to build a strong working relationship with one provider, become familiar with their clinical routines, and provide consistent support to patients throughout their care. Dermatology experience is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for patient care.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialized dermatology and procedural skills while enjoying consistent daytime hours with no weekends or holidays.
Travel Requirements
This position requires regular travel among our four Wisconsin clinic locations:
- Appleton
- New London
- Shawano
- Waupaca
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling between locations as scheduled.
Typical Weekly Schedule
A typical schedule may include:
- Monday: New London – 1405 Mill Street, 2nd Floor
- Tuesday: Shawano – 100 County Road B, 1st Floor
- Wednesday: Shawano – 100 County Road B, 1st Floor
- Thursday: Waupaca – 710 Riverside Drive
The Monday and Friday schedule may rotate based on the selected candidate and clinic coverage needs. A consistent schedule may also be considered. Flexibility to work at all four clinic locations is required, and scheduled locations may occasionally change based on business needs.
What You’ll Do
Patient Care and Clinical Support
- Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories
- Document patient information in the Electronic Health Record
- Scribe and document care during provider visits
- Prepare and send prescriptions as directed by providers
- Educate patients about treatment plans and patient portal use
- Respond to patient phone calls and messages within the appropriate scope of practice
- Provide friendly, compassionate support throughout the patient experience
Clinical and Dermatologic Procedures
- Assist providers with biopsies, excisions, and other dermatologic procedures
- Prepare procedure trays, instruments, medications, and supplies
- Administer local anesthetic as permitted by licensure and training
- Maintain sterile technique during procedures
- Clean, sterilize, and process instruments using autoclave equipment
- Prepare specimens for pathology transport and maintain accurate records
Clinic Operations
- Monitor patient flow and help providers remain on schedule
- Keep examination and treatment rooms clean, stocked, and prepared
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies
- Support equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and workplace safety standards
- Assist coworkers and other clinic locations as needed

Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Certified Medical Assistant certification with eligibility to work in Wisconsin
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse license with eligibility to work in Wisconsin
Candidates must also:
- Currently reside in Wisconsin
- Have reliable transportation
- Be available to travel among the Appleton, New London, Shawano, and Waupaca clinics
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous dermatology experience
- Experience using an EMR or EHR system
- Previous clinical or procedural assisting experience
- Experience maintaining sterile technique and processing instruments
