Steward Propane is seeking a dependable, customer focused CDL Propane Delivery Driver to join our growing team. As a locally owned and family operated propane company, we take pride in providing safe, reliable propane service to residential, agricultural, and commercial customers throughout our service area.
In this role, you will safely deliver propane, perform tank fills, inspect equipment, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and hazardous materials regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL propane bobtail truck to deliver propane to residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers.
- Load propane at approved terminals following company and industry safety procedures.
- Perform pre trip, post trip, and daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Complete propane deliveries accurately while following all DOT, FMCSA, NFPA, and company safety regulations.
- Conduct leak checks and visual inspections when required.
- Install, exchange, or remove propane cylinders as needed.
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering customer questions and representing the company professionally.
- Maintain accurate delivery tickets, electronic logs, and required paperwork.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and customer concerns.
- Follow established delivery routes while adjusting efficiently for emergency deliveries or schedule changes.
- Assist with seasonal workload, emergency response, and after hours rotation as assigned.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Promote Steward Propane's services by identifying opportunities for new tank installations, propane conversions, and new customer accounts.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL (Class A accepted).
- Hazmat endorsement required.
- Tanker endorsement required or ability to obtain.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Clean driving record with the ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous propane delivery experience.
- CETP certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
- Experience operating bobtail or tanker trucks.
- Knowledge of propane systems, tanks, regulators, and gas appliances.
- Sales experience or willingness to identify new customer opportunities.
