Position Summary
The Program Coordinator supports Nourish’s mission by serving as the lead implementor for Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Community education programs. This role coordinates and delivers programming across all age ranges - from Early Care Education through adulthood - at Nourish and at schools, youth sites, and community partner locations. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director, Educators, support staff, and volunteers to ensure programs are well-organized, mission-aligned, and effectively executed. This position plays a key operational role in the success of Nourish’s programs and the communities they serve.
Responsibility Level
This is a Coordinator-level position. The Program Coordinator is responsible for program coordination and logistical implementation. This role operates under the direction of the Program Director and focuses on executing and supporting Nourish programs, working directly with sites, volunteers, and participants.
Budget and Resource Responsibility
- The Program Coordinator does not hold independent budget authority.
- Completes regular inventory of program, rental, bar, and experience supplies and recommends resource or supply needs to the Program Director.
- Supports grant tracking and execution as directed by the Program Director.
- Oversees cash handling and tills during applicable programs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties represent the core responsibilities of this position.
- Coordinate and implement Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Community programs, including creating CRM registration, setup, execution, and takedown.
- Serve as lead educator for on-site and off-site Farm-to-School programs including field trips, nutrition education cooking classes, garden education, and scout badge opportunities; lead programs in the Program Director’s absence.
- Collaborate with staff to develop education and lesson plans; ensure culinary and farm items associated with programs are in place, including supplies, recipe scaling, and educational documents.
- Communicate proactively with program sites, stakeholders, educators, volunteers, and Nourish staff to ensure smooth scheduling and program delivery.
- Coordinate and engage volunteers; assist with training and support of educators and support staff; support occasional kitchen implementation, inventory, or prep with volunteers.
- Support program and volunteer data collection and tracking, including accurate record keeping, school data, community surveys, and grant tracking.
- Support Farm-to-Community programs, general program needs, and rentals, including setup, execution, and takedown.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator supervises Educator level staff. This role assists with the training and support of Educators and support staff, and coordinates and engages program volunteers in collaboration with the Program Director.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–3 years of education experience working with youth and community members preferred; teaching degree or certificate is not required.
- Demonstrated high level of understanding in classroom management, task and time management, and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Passion for the Nourish Mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Bartending license a plus.
- Experience with nonprofit or community-based programming.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Operates in a professional office environment, kitchens, gardens, schools, and community centers and is a year-round position.
- Routinely uses standard office equipment and software including Microsoft Office, Canva, NeonCRM, SharePoint, OneDrive, QuickBooks Time, and the Internet.
- Position includes some evening, weekend, and holiday work required to support Nourish programs.
- Required ability to regularly carry and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Role often involves standing, bending, moving, and lifting.
