Full Job Description

The Fairfield by Marriott in Sioux Center—the area’s newest hotel—is looking for a dependable, friendly individual to join our Front Desk team.

This is a part-time position consisting primarily of evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Applicants must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, applicants who are unable to work both weekend days cannot be considered for this position.

Additional hours may be available based on the employee’s availability and the needs of the hotel. The more flexible your availability, the more opportunities we will have to offer you hours. Our three shifts run as follows: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. The ability to work an entire existing shift would be required.

Preference will be given to applicants who are also willing to cross-train for occasional overnight shifts from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Overnight hours are not currently guaranteed, but employees who work these shifts receive an additional $1 per hour shift premium whenever they do work an overnight shift.

About the Position:

Our Front Desk team serves as the hub of the hotel’s daily operation. Guest Services Representatives help create a welcoming experience for every guest while keeping the hotel running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

Welcoming guests and checking them into and out of the hotel
Answering telephone calls and making reservations
Providing directions and recommending local dining and entertainment options
Responding to guest questions, concerns, and complaints
Keeping the lobby and Front Desk areas clean and presentable
Folding laundry and assisting other hotel departments when needed
Serving as the primary point of contact during emergencies
Completing other duties necessary to provide an excellent guest experience

What We’re Looking For

The ideal applicant will be:

Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with the public
Dependable and able to work independently
Calm and capable when handling guest concerns or unexpected situations
Detail-oriented and able to manage several responsibilities at once
Experienced in customer service, with positive professional references
Available to work both Saturdays and Sundays
Willing to work primarily 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shifts

This can be a great part-time opportunity for a student or anyone looking to earn additional income while gaining valuable customer-service and hospitality experience.
