Marion & Polk Early Learning Hub (MPELH) is a nonprofit organization serving Marion and Polk counties. Together with community partners, we work to ensure children enter kindergarten ready, families are stable, and services are coordinated and aligned.
Our mission is to bring people and resources together so families with young children get what they need, when they need it. We coordinate programs, back the early childhood workforce, and speak up for practical solutions that make care and learning work for everyone.
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator reports to the Family Services Manager and serves as a primary ambassador for MPELH by cultivating community partnerships, coordinating outreach initiatives, and strengthening public awareness of MPELH programs. The role oversees Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) outreach and fundraising efforts, building strong relationships with community, community organizations, businesses, donors, and volunteers. The position ensures timely implementation, partner engagement, and smooth operations across outreach initiatives while coordinating MPELH’s community event portfolio to strengthen community presence, expand family engagement, and support organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities
Dolly Parton Imagination Library Coordinator
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and local leaders to increase DPIL awareness, enrollment, and community investment.
- Cultivate and steward donors, sponsors, and community champions to support funding for participating zip codes.
- Identify new outreach opportunities and partnerships that expand access to DPIL.
- Align enrollment campaigns with local partners, zip-code targeted efforts as needed.
- Coordinate and support annual DPIL fundraising and special events, including planning, budgeting, volunteer coordination, sponsorships, marketing, branding, logistics, and event execution.
- Develop and distribute outreach materials that promote DPIL enrollment, including printed materials, promotional resources, and community displays.
- Engage community volunteers in the execution of community events/outreach activities and fundraising efforts.
- Track and report enrollment growth and equity reach per zip and language in monthly snapshots and more in-depth semiannually to board and leadership.
- As needed, data entry and tracking of enrollees within software, family communications, maintain clean address data
Community Events
- Coordinate participation in both MPELH signature events annually and any additional events ensuring strong staff and volunteer representation, logistic management, and planning key messaging depending on program needs.
- Maintain a year-round community outreach calendar that identifies new outreach opportunities and tracks upcoming community events throughout Marion & Polk counties.
- Ensure language access, safety protocols and day-of logistics are executed and in compliance with MPELH policies.
- When necessary, facilitate post-event debriefs and report back to the team.
- Maintain asset inventory (banners, booths, tablets, hotspots) and a packing list with refresh cadence.
- Develop engaging family activities and ensure outreach materials, books, giveaways, and displays are prepared for each event.
- Maintain simple dashboards for events (attendance, conversions).
Outreach Integration and Cross Functional Gates
- Develop and coordinate timely outreach campaigns using clear, accessible messaging that engages families, partners, donors, and community stakeholders. Collaborate with Marketing Coordinator by providing event information, success stories, photos, and program metrics to support organizational goals.
- Create reporting information for Board of Directors, Parent Advisory Committee, or other reports as directed.
- Other duties or projects may be assigned.
Decision Making Authority
- Authorized to schedule routine events, escalate all DPIL fundraising events, high risk changes or non-standard agreements to supervisor.
- Regular check-in with Supervisor
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Align promotional event materials with timelines, ensure communication with team regarding events and key messaging.
- Collaborate across MPELH programs to identify outreach opportunities, share community feedback, gather success stories, and strengthen partnerships that support family engagement and organizational priorities.
- Coordinate volunteers and staff participation in outreach and fundraising activities by providing schedules, expectations, materials, and event support.Systems & Processes
- Keep a templated toolkit (flyers, social frames, email shells, event signage) to speed execution and ensure consistency regarding DPIL, MPELH and key messages.
- Maintain outreach inventories, event supplies, branded merchandise, promotional materials, and outreach assets to ensure readiness for community engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate procurement of outreach materials, branded apparel, books, giveaways, and promotional items as needed.
- Maintain organizational systems related to outreach reporting, event tracking, vendor coordination, and inventory management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate on advisory committees, collaborative meetings, and community workgroups that strengthen relationship and advance MPELH priorities.
- Support organizational operations through administrative and special projects, including reporting, resource coordination, organizational planning, and other duties as assigned.
Pay: $57,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Salem, OR 97301
