2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator II

Location: Valencia, CA
Shift: 2nd Shift
Job Type: Full Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator II to join our manufacturing team in Valencia, CA. This role is responsible for setting up, loading, unloading, troubleshooting, and operating CNC lathe and mill machines in a production environment.

The CNC Machine Operator II will follow the manufacturing schedule, machine dispatch list, standard work instructions, and quality requirements to ensure production jobs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position supports safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals while working closely with the Production Supervisor, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, set up, load, unload, and troubleshoot CNC lathe and mill machines according to established procedures, manufacturing instructions, and machining best practices.

Read and interpret CNC programs, blueprints, work instructions, inspection plans, and production documentation to support accurate setup and production.

Inspect parts using precision measuring tools and record inspection data accurately in accordance with company and customer requirements.

Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of tooling, fixtures, and shop aids to ensure compliance with manufacturing documentation.

Adjust offsets, change tools, inspect fixtures, and support routine machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously when assigned to support production goals.

Identify machining issues, process gaps, or nonconforming parts and communicate concerns to the Production Supervisor, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Support Quality MRB activities by assisting with root cause identification and corrective action implementation.

Follow all safety policies, company procedures, timekeeping protocols, production standard work, and Quality Management System requirements.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

Complete required safety training and promptly report potential hazards or safety concerns to leadership.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 3 years of CNC mill setup and operation experience required.

Experience working with tight tolerance, complex machined components required.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation.

Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, GD&T.

Strong shop math skills, including fractions, decimals, angles, and geometry.

Ability to use precision inspection tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, thread gauges, calipers, comparators, microscopes, and specialty gauges.

Intermediate computer skills with the ability to load and edit CNC programs.

Ability to safely use hand tools, grinders, deburring tools, and other common shop tools.

Ability to write clear notes, updates, and instructions related to production work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aerospace manufacturing or precision machining preferred.

Experience operating both CNC mills and CNC lathes preferred.

Experience working in a Quality Management System environment preferred.

Prior experience operating multiple machines in a production environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform medium duty physical work in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the shift.

Ability to sit occasionally as needed.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to work flexible hours as production needs require.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and requires regular use of CNC machines, inspection equipment, hand tools, and shop aids. The ideal candidate is safety focused, detail oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast paced production setting.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
