Legal Assistant

Location: Lake Oswego, OR
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Position Overview

A well-established boutique law firm in Lake Oswego is seeking a personable, organized, and dependable Legal Assistant to join our team. This full-time, on-site position plays a key role in supporting attorneys and paralegals with estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to client outcomes while working closely with a collaborative and experienced legal team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, organize, and maintain estate planning, probate, and trust administration documents.
Manage client files and ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and coordinate meetings for attorneys and staff.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, financial institutions, and other parties.
Draft correspondence and assist with legal forms, filings, and administrative documents.
Monitor deadlines and assist in keeping matters on track.
Perform data entry, scanning, electronic file management, and document organization.
Provide reception and general administrative support as needed.
Assist with special projects and other duties to support the firm's operations.

Qualifications Required Skills & Experience

Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Administrative Assistant preferred but not required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with legal practice management or document management software, such as Clio, is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
Professional demeanor and commitment to providing outstanding client service.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
