Now Hiring Bussers/Food Runners

Location: Downtown Plainfield, IL
Cuisine: New American with Creative Twists
Bar Features: Crafted Cocktails, Local & Global Wines, Extensive Whiskey List
Kitchen: Scratch Kitchen Using the Freshest Ingredients

Barrel & Vine’s Plainfield location is looking to grow our team with a hardworking and energetic Busser/Food Runner. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are passionate about delivering excellent guest service, we want to meet you!

As a Busser/Food Runner, you’ll play a key role in supporting our service team, keeping the dining room clean and organized, and ensuring food is delivered accurately and efficiently to our guests. We’re looking for team players with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to customers' tables
Act as the key contact point between Front of House and Back of House staff
Communicate food orders to chefs, prioritizing special requests (e.g., food allergies)
Assist wait staff with setting tables (tableware, utensils, napkins)
Ensure food is served according to safety standards (proper temperature, etc.)
Check in with customers and provide refills or take additional orders as needed
Clear dirty dishes and utensils from tables promptly
Inform restaurant staff of any customer feedback or requests (e.g., when asking for the check)
Provide families with young children kids' menus and special silverware sets

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience as a Food Expeditor, Busser, or in a similar entry-level role
Knowledge of hygiene and food safety rules
Physical stamina and ability to carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods
Availability to work various shifts, including weekends
Strong multi-tasking abilities
Good communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Team-oriented and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience.
