Full Job Description

Accounting Specialist

Pay: $17–$20/hour DOE
Location: Bossier City & Shreveport, LA
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:
We are seeking detail-oriented Accounting Specialists to join our clients' accounting teams in the Shreveport and Bossier City area. These positions are responsible for supporting a variety of accounting functions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, payroll, and financial recordkeeping. Extensive QuickBooks experience is required.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple accounting responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records through daily bookkeeping activities.
Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
Manage accounts receivable by preparing invoices, posting payments, and monitoring outstanding balances.
Contact customers regarding past-due accounts and assist with collections while maintaining professional customer relationships.
Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial transactions, reporting, payroll, and account maintenance.
Collaborate with management and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience using QuickBooks is required.
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, payroll, or a related accounting role is required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, and compliance is a plus.
