Field Mechanic Foreman – Natural Gas Compressor Engines
Location: Nationwide Field Work

Pay Range: $120,000 – $195,000 per year (based on experience & overtime)

We’re hiring a Field Mechanic Foreman to lead crews performing major overhauls and rebuilds on slow-speed reciprocating natural gas compressor engines across the U.S.
This is a hands-on leadership role for mechanics with direct experience on large-bore, slow-speed natural gas engines — not entry-level, and not diesel-only experience.
You’ll lead a team of skilled field mechanics, oversee complex rebuilds, and ensure every project meets Exline’s unmatched standards for safety, quality, and precision.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and supervise a crew of 3–4 field mechanics on overhaul and maintenance projects.
- Perform and oversee complete teardowns, inspections, and rebuilds of large-bore reciprocating engines and compressors.
- Work directly on engines such as:
Cooper-Bessemer (GMV, GMW, V-275), Clark (HBA, HRA), Ingersoll Rand (KVG, KVS), Worthington, Ajax, Superior, and Waukesha.
- Serve as the on-site technical authority — troubleshoot issues, create repair plans, and ensure rebuild accuracy.
- Assign daily tasks and manage workflow for safety and efficiency.
- Mentor and train mechanics, building skill and confidence in the field.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, timecards, and reports.
- Enforce all safety and environmental protocols.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience overhauling or maintaining reciprocating natural gas compressor engines.
- Proven familiarity with the following engine types is required:
Cooper-Bessemer, Clark, Ingersoll Rand, Worthington, Ajax, Superior, and/or Waukesha.
- Experience leading or supervising field mechanics on major overhaul projects.
- Advanced mechanical knowledge, including alignment, timing, and tolerance measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (DOT medical card required).
- Willingness to travel extensively (6–8 weeks at a time) nationwide.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $120,000 – $195,000 per year (based on experience, overtime, and per diem).
Per Diem: $68/day (in addition to base pay).
Travel: All expenses paid — flights, hotels, and transportation covered.
Lodging: Private accommodations (no room sharing).
