Full Job Description

Weekly pay: $2,637–$2,698 per week
Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
Contract duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (1845–0700)
Start date: 08/16/2026
Setting: Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit in a critical-access hospital

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and healthy newborns across the labor, delivery, and postpartum continuum
Perform triage, fetal assessment, and non-stress tests; monitor fetal status and respond to changes in patient condition
Serve as the second nurse at deliveries and help manage overflow or high-acuity cases to ensure safe, timely care
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesia, and other professionals to coordinate patient-centered care plans
Support patients and families during pregnancy, birth, and recovery, including education on newborn care and lactation support as appropriate
Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as part of a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

Active RN license in Montana or eligibility for Montana licensure
Must be labor-trained and able to work effectively in a fast-paced LDRP environment
Certifications: NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or above)
Ability to work 1845–0700 night shifts and respond to obstetric emergencies as part of a dynamic obstetrics service
Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines in a critical-access setting
