Lead Veterans Disability Attorney | Fully Remote
Law Offices of Eric A. Shore is seeking an experienced VA accredited attorney to lead our Veterans Disability practice.
We are looking for an attorney who already knows VA disability law, is currently accredited by VA as an attorney in their individual capacity, and has current external VBMS access for representing VA claimants. This is a senior role for someone who can step into an active practice and begin contributing quickly.

The Role
You will lead our Veterans Disability practice, handle and oversee VA claims and appeals, and provide legal direction to experienced legal assistants and case managers.
This is a true leadership position with meaningful responsibility. We want someone who can make sound legal decisions, develop the team, improve how the practice operates, and work directly with firm leadership.
For an attorney with significant Social Security Disability experience, there may also be an opportunity to supervise or manage our Social Security Disability department. SSD experience is not required for the Veterans Disability role.
What You Will Do
- Lead the Veterans Disability practice
- Handle and oversee VA disability claims and appeals
- Develop strategy for Supplemental Claims, Higher Level Reviews, and appeals before the Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Review C files, medical evidence, service records, rating decisions, and other case materials
- Identify the evidence and legal arguments needed to develop strong cases
- Work extensively in VBMS, VA.gov, Caseflow, and other applicable VA systems
- Provide legal direction and supervision to experienced legal assistants and case managers
- Train and mentor members of the Veterans Disability team
- Work with firm leadership to improve procedures, technology, efficiency, client service, and case outcomes
What We Require
- Current VA accreditation as an attorney in your individual capacity
- Current external VBMS access as an accredited attorney representing VA claimants
- Active law license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Significant recent experience representing veterans in VA disability matters
- Strong knowledge of the VA claims and appeals process
- Experience with Supplemental Claims, Higher Level Reviews, and Board appeals
- Experience reviewing C files and developing medical and legal evidence
- Strong legal writing, judgment, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to lead a remote legal team while handling substantive legal work
- Ability to step into an active Veterans Disability practice and begin contributing quickly
Especially Valuable Experience
- Current or recent Veterans Disability experience in private practice
- Experience leading or supervising a VA legal team
- Experience managing a significant Veterans Disability caseload or practice
- Social Security Disability experience
- Experience supervising or managing an SSD practice
- Experience with Salesforce, Litify, or another legal case management platform
Important VA Accreditation Requirement
This position requires current VA accreditation as an attorney in your individual capacity and current external VBMS access for representing VA claimants.
Experience working for VA or another federal agency does not by itself satisfy these requirements. Accreditation solely as a VSO representative also does not satisfy these requirements.
We are specifically looking for an attorney who can join our private firm and begin representing our Veterans Disability clients with a short ramp up.
A True Remote Leadership Role
This is a fully remote position with no routine office attendance requirement. You may work from anywhere in the United States.
Because you will lead a practice, we need someone who communicates well, is accessible to the team and clients during the workday, and can effectively lead a legal practice remotely.
