Weekend Merchandiser - (Sidney/Utica Markets)
General Statement of Duties-Job Description-Responsibilities.
· Merchandiser is responsible for servicing existing Customer accounts on a predetermined service schedule within a designated geographic area.
· Merchandiser displays/merchandises products, rotates products and ensures product displays are clean, marked, organized and well stocked.
· Merchandiser is aware of promotion and product display promotions. Place any special signs, point of display advertising materials at the Customers location.
· Merchandiser is a part of the Customer Service Team and must communicate appropriate Customer and competitive information to Management, Internal Customer Service staff and Driver Sales Team, on a consistent basis.
· Merchandiser is a vital position in establishing, developing and maintaining a positive and trustful Customer and business relationship. Ensure “Huff Brand” is constantly and consistently being achieved.
· Adheres to all Customer specific receiving policies and store procedures
· Follow all company procedures, safety regulations and professional code of conduct.
Job Description-Specific Responsibilities.
1. Services existing Customers on a predetermined basis.
2. Merchandise existing inventory and any back stock.
3. Understands the promotion schedule supplied by Huff staff, signage allowed is displayed.
4. Alert internal Customer Service Team of any exceptions, special deliveries, customer requests or complaints.
5. Maintain a complete working knowledge of the products offered.
6. Maintain a full working knowledge of Customer sales and service requirements and adhere to these requirements and policies. Follow Customer Best Practices procedures.
7. Communicate constantly with Customer support team and management to resolve any service problems and opportunities to increase sales.
8. Ensure cleanliness of all display cabinets and shelves.
9. Place any special signs, point of display advertising materials at the Customers location.
10. Mark and or price predetermined products with labeling equipment.
11. Adhere to all Customer specific receiving policies and procedures.
12. Provide consistent and accurate communication to store personnel, driver sales and office teammates.
13. Maintain flawless appearance of displays and special visual displays at store level including products on sales floor as well as in backrooms.
14. Efficiently carry out put away procedures to ensure optimized efforts, product protection guidelines and safe food handling practices.
15. Follow all company procedures, safety regulations and professional code of conduct.
16. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Sales Management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a Retail Sales Representative in the Consumer Packaged Goods category. Special attention on Customer retail contact, merchandising and Customer relationship.
- Excellent selling, merchandising, communication, interpersonal and follow up skills.
- Strong product knowledge to ensure proper displays, rotation and stocking levels. Self-confidence.
- Prioritizing, Customer, time management and organizational skills.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Safe Driving record. Pass Company drug test.
- Strong work ethic and flexibility in daily schedules.
- Follow proper product handling, food safety, and inventory protection procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and professional standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Sales Management.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous merchandising, retail sales, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience preferred.
- Experience building strong customer relationships within a retail environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong merchandising, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high merchandising standards.
- Working knowledge of product rotation and inventory management.
- Basic written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a company drug screening.
- Dependable work ethic with flexibility to meet changing business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Push and pull loaded carts and stocking equipment.
- Work in retail stores, stockrooms, coolers, and warehouse environments.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
