Canyon Vista Medical Center is located in the beautiful high desert of southeastern Arizona, committed to serve residents in Sierra Vista, Ft. Huachuca, Cochise County – a population of more than 131,000 people, and our surrounding communities. We’re comfortably nestled in the San Pedro River Valley, 75 miles southeast of Tucson. Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015.
How you’ll contribute
-
Monitors and completes necessary audits for patient care tracking. Handles all aspects of the admission process.

Supports in the completion of pre-admission paperwork as applicable.

Supports in the tracking and collection of required assessments and surveys (such as BASIS-32/CABA and patient satisfaction surveys).

Maintains supply of therapeutic tools such as worksheets, videos, and games for clinician use. Per the therapist dictation maintains the programming schedule

Supports with charge reconciliation and entering as required.

Supports team with patient group assignments and coordination efforts.

Supports with vital and UDS capture as needed.

Completes DCAR reporting in a timely and accurate fashion

Maintains staff schedules and ensures staffing for the program. Monitors and records attendance including tardiness and absences.

Supports in organizing and filing paperwork.

Audits charts. Communicates with treatment team to ensure chart compliance. Interfaces with others to ensure completion of physician follow-ups from CPE

Manages Family Session Schedules as required by program

Provides transportation daily via hospital vehicle to patients to/from home into the IOP Program.

Work with the business office and the utilization review department to ensure payment for services. Preform pre-certifications and concurrent reviews. Develop relationships with payer sources. Interfaces with UR department to ensure service coverage for patients

Maintains program and patient information and data to create reports, census, and assist the Business Office in reporting.

Maintain a positive working relationship with referral sources, community agencies and organizations.

Schedules CPEs, nursing assessments, H&P and psychosocial assessment with appropriate clinician and per required timeframe. Schedules or completes UDS collections, including random screenings

Ensures orders are obtained for patients prior to starting services (as applicable).

Actively participate in the therapist’s discharge planning needs. As directed creates appointments, starts follow up care process and completes interfacing with organizations.

Cross trains and supports in various outpatient functions including PCA, transportation, and financial counseling

Conducts appointment reminder calls.

Collects copays and deductibles as applicable

Manages organizational tools to ensure efficient operations including bed boards/group room assignments, treatment team schedule, flash reports, etc.

Provides impeccable customer service to patients, families, referral sources, and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have
-
High school degree or equivalent
-
Previous experience on an inpatient unit preferred.

Must have experience with clericalduties.
-
Valid driver’s license; CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment
and prior to any patient contact. -
Understands and adheres to LPBH and host hospital compliance plan, code of conduct, and core values

Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g. HIPAA)

Adhere to LPBH, facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures

Assumes responsibility for maintaining a clean, safe environment in behavioral health units

Demonstrates knowledge of the facilities and services provided.
