Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking another skilled Machinist to join our small team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various CNC machines and equipment, with a strong focus on precision and quality. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the production process by machining parts according to the customer's specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our manufacturing operations. We are looking for someone who will be a long term employee, eventually working their way up to shop manager. Work hours are 7:30am-4:00pm (or 8am-4:30pm) M-F with 30 minutes for lunch.

Responsibilities

Saw cut raw materials.
Change out parts on mills and lathes.
Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines.
Operate CNC machines and milling machines to produce high-quality components.
Use bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc. and other measuring tools to verify dimensions of finished products.
Collaborate with owners to develop and improve machining processes.
Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
Laser engrave various components using a fiber laser.
Perform various finishing tasks such as deburring, dual action sanding, bead blasting, etc.

Required Skills

Attention to detail!
Good work ethic.
Willingness to learn.
Experience with equipment such as mills, lathes, saws, laser engravers, 3D printers, etc.
Understanding of standard tolerances and can read drawing accurately.
Familiarity with bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc. for precise measurement.
Basic math skills for calculations related to machining processes.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in CNC operation and programming.
Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for interpreting designs.
Experience with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming.
