San Ildefonso Services LLC is a Pueblo of San Ildefonso owned economic development business established in 2007. SIS line of business continues to grow, working with federal agencies, state/local governments, the community and neighboring communities to include (2) convenience stores and fuel stations; federal contracting joint venture providing building cleaning and maintenance, construction and remediation services, staffing solutions; internet access for all (community broadband); and solar energy.
The Work
We are seeking an analytical and problem-solving Bookkeeper to evaluate financial records and identify issues with attention to detail and accuracy to join our accounting team. In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial records, support budgeting efforts, and facilitate timely reporting.
Essential Functions
- Utilize accounting software (Quickbooks), Microsoft Excel, and other financial databases to accurately record and maintain financial transactions
- Record and post financial transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts in accordance with established accounting procedures
- Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring proper classification of debits and credits
- Process accounts payable by reviewing invoices, obtaining appropriate approvals, preparing payments and maintaining vendor records
- Assist with payroll processing by verifying payroll information, maintaining payroll records, allocating time to the corresponding projects, and ensuring compliance with payroll tax requirements
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentations in accordance with record retention policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested financial records, reconciliations and documentation.
- Maintain the confidentiality of financial, payroll, employee, and vendor information.
- Represent the Pueblo with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); AND, 2 years of relevant experience to the duties and responsibilities outlined. Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred.
