We’re looking for a Physical Security Technology Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, technology-driven projects within the physical security, enterprise security, and building technology industries. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional project management capabilities to guide cross-functional teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations. This individual will serve as the bridge between business objectives and technical execution while maintaining a relentless focus on customer success across access control, video surveillance, identity management, visitor management, and enterprise integration initiatives.

What you’ll do
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the planning, design, implementation, and delivery of technical projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop detailed project plans including scope, milestones, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and resource allocations.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor project progress and proactively adjust plans to accommodate changing priorities, customer requirements, and project risks.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality expectations and customer requirements.
Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate activities between customers, manufacturers, software vendors, installation teams, subcontractors, and internal technical resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support system integration efforts involving physical security platforms and enterprise applications such as HR systems, identity providers, building management systems, and business intelligence platforms.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with customer security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Partner closely with customers, business leaders, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to define requirements and align project goals with business objectives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, field personnel, and third-party vendors.
- Provide regular project status updates, executive summaries, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to customers and internal leadership teams.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance
- Identify project risks, dependencies, constraints, and potential roadblocks early in the project lifecycle.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project impact and maintain project momentum.
- Resolve issues and conflicts within project teams to ensure efficient execution and delivery.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for project-related concerns and drive timely resolution.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet technical specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Ensure all project documentation, training materials, and handoff deliverables are completed and delivered to the customer.
- Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned throughout project delivery to improve future execution and customer outcomes.
Financial and Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project labor utilization, subcontractor performance, and material procurement to ensure projects remain financially aligned with expectations.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to maximize project efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Support change order management and ensure project scope changes are properly documented, communicated, and approved.
Company Development Initiatives
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Octeum’s project delivery methodologies, standards, and operational processes.
- Participate in the development and refinement of project templates, documentation standards, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities to enhance customer experience, service delivery, and internal operations.
- Participate in internal strategic initiatives, including new service development, technology evaluations, and operational improvement programs.
- Assist with the creation of statements of work (SOWs), project estimates, implementation strategies, and delivery models for prospective customer engagements.
- Share lessons learned, technical knowledge, and project experiences to help develop team capabilities and organizational expertise.
What we’re looking for
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or in a similar project leadership role.
- Experience delivering projects involving physical security systems, enterprise software, infrastructure, or technology integrations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineers, software developers, field technicians, installation teams, system administrators, and external vendors.
- Experience managing customer-facing projects with multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of physical security technologies and industry best practices.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with project management platforms such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Trello, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and change management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration (BBA) Business Management, Organizational Leadership, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to Have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
- Agile, Scrum, or related certifications are considered a plus.
- Access Control Experience: LenelS2, Software House, Genetec, Gallagher, Brivo, Avigilon Alta
- Video Management Systems Experience: Milestone, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon, Verkada
- Cloud-based security platforms and managed services environments
