Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual, already living in or nearby Summit County, Co, to join our team in a dual role as a Driver and Sales Representative. This hybrid position combines hands-on service with customer acquisition, offering a unique opportunity to grow both operational and professional sales skills. As a driver, you will operate light to medium-duty trucks (CDL preferred but not required) to deliver receptacles to new customers and safely collect and haul trash, single-stream recycling, glass-only recycling, and food scraps for composting from residential bins throughout Summit County. As a sales representative, you will also play a key role in growing our customer base by engaging prospective clients, promoting our services, and converting leads into active accounts.

Qualified candidates will start at $30/ hour with at least 35 hours of work guaranteed each week, with additional weekly, monthly, and annual bonuses for acquiring new customers—potentially increasing your annual earnings to $122,440 or more. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road and is also energized by helping a mission-driven company grow.

Responsibilities

Collect acceptable recycling, food scraps or waste from residential and commercial locations in Summit County, operate compactor controls, and haul and deliver contents to the SCRAP/ Dillon Landfill
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
Follow routes and meet delivery schedules
Document collections, log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel receipts
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents or violations
Network and canvass in Garbage Gurus collection areas to attract and acquire new customers.
Follow sales methods & procedures.
Keep and submit accurate sales forms and logs.

Skills

Proven work experience as a truck driver
Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, etc)
Ability to drive long hours
Extensive knowledge of applicable driving rules and regulations
No recent moving or driving violations
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
Valid driving license (No CDL required)
Strong communication skills
Experience in sales

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $63.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
