CLIENT PARTNER PROFILE & VALUE PROPOSITION: Leapros has been engaged by a highly recognized Aerospace manufacturing facility to fill a Sr. CNC Machinist/Programmer role in their Ventura County facility.
POSITION TITLE: Sr. CNC Machinist/Programmer
POSITION SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming and a strong understanding of machining processes. Operating and program of CNC Mill & Lathes machines, with a strong expertise in Mastercam. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, aerospace environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling and lathe operations.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation
- Develop and optimize programs using Mastercam creating programs using 2D prints, solid models, and designing tooling/fixing if needed
- Program, set-up, and operate CNC milling machines and lathes.
- Conduct setup of CNC machines, including tooling adjustments based on job specifications.
- Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure optimal part production.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and provide solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Mentor and train junior machinists and contribute to process improvements.
- Other duties assigned by department manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including programming from scratch
- Expertise in Mastercam, able to program Lathes and 4-axis Mills
- Ability to inspect your own work using precision measurement tools
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Proven experience in CNC programming with a strong background in manufacturing and machining environments.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, geometry, tooling, and blueprint reading is essential.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments is required to ensure quality control throughout production runs.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: A reasonable estimate of the available {annual or hourly} pay scale for this position is: $45.00-$50.00 per hour. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
