Full Job Description

Job Summary
The Clerk/Treasurer is responsible for recording and publishing minutes of village board meetings, maintaining village records, preparing meetings and agendas, and issuing public notices of all official activities and meetings.

The Clerk/Treasurer is required to attend all village board meetings and such other meetings as directed. The Clerk/Treasurer is also responsible for all aspects of payroll, preparation and collection of utility bills, and accounts payable. The Clerk/Treasurer assists in the preparation of the annual budget, and performs such other duties as prescribed by the Homer Village ordinances and Nebraska state statutes.

Duties

The successful applicant will have:

excellent organizational, written and verbal skills, with proficiency in various computer programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Prior municipal office experience is preferred, and prior experience with Power Manager or similar software is a plus.
Must be able to work well either independently or in a collaborative environment with elected and appointed local, state and federal officials, city employees and department heads, and with the general public.
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school education is required. Post-secondary education is preferred. College degree in business or related field is highly desirable.
Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation highly desirable. Attendance at appropriate trainings is required.
Must be bondable.
Drug testing will be required.
