Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper to join our driven, customer-focused team. In this critical role, you will analyze daily financial activities and provide guidance to upper management on future financial plans. The goal is to enable company leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives. You must be flexible, able to work both independently and with the team, detail-oriented, and highly organized.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll processing, including tracking hours, calculating wages, and ensuring tax compliance
Cash flow forecasting and financial projections
Receive, process, verify, and reconcile invoices daily
Post credit card charges and reconcile vendor statements monthly
Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolving discrepancies
Record adjusting journal entries and maintain financial records
Provide financial reports and interpret financial information for managerial staff, recommending further courses of action
Advise leadership on investment activities and provide financial strategies aligned with business plans
Maintain QuickBooks daily for the organization
Track and report job costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, to ensure projects stay within budget
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and actual performance vs. business plans
Develop financial trends and projections for the firm
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax documents and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and internal reviews
Manage vendor accounts and address billing or payment issues
Additional office assignments and tasks as deemed necessary

Required Skills

Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
Reliable transportation to and from our office
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively
Proficiency in finance and accounting software
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Solid understanding of financial statistics, accounting principles, and construction job costing
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
PC proficiency, including data entry and general math skills

Preferred Experience

4+ years of relevant bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction industry
Experience with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating formulas, sorting data, and preparing reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred; Associate’s degree with additional experience considered
Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
Associate’s degree with additional years of relevant job experience will be considered
