Full Job Description

Job Title: Nurse Manager – Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy (Infusion RN)

Location: 222 Tongass Ave, Sitka, AK 99835

Duration: 13 Weeks (08/17/2026 – 11/15/2026) (with possibilities of extension)

Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Pay Details:

For Travelers:

Blended Hourly Pay Rate (W2):$130.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate:$67.00
Minimum Hourly Stipend:$63.00
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable):$2,680.00
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable):$2,520.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate:$5,200.00

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Infusion Center, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
Supervise daily clinical operations, staffing assignments, scheduling, and workflow management.
Manage departmental budgets and promote cost-effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinate orientation, training, competency validation, and ongoing professional development of nursing staff.
Evaluate employee performance, conduct coaching and performance reviews, and recommend recognition or corrective actions when appropriate.
Develop, revise, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and treatment planning.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
Oversee staffing schedules, approve employee leave, and delegate assignments appropriately.
Participate in Nursing Service strategic planning, departmental goal setting, and Nurse Executive Committee meetings.
Maintain readiness to provide direct patient care and infusion nursing support as departmental needs require.
Serve as Acting Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) when designated and assist with hospital emergency response activities.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Active Alaska RN License required at the time of submission.
Minimum 5 years of professional Registered Nurse experience.
Minimum 2 years of recent Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy (Infusion) RN experience.
Minimum 1 year of supervisory or nurse management experience.
Current ACLS Certification required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
PALS and NRP certifications preferred.
Strong leadership, budgeting, staffing, and operational management experience.
Experience with quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and performance management.
Proficiency with Meditech EMR and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Must be able to step into direct patient care responsibilities as needed.

Additional Requirements:

Flu Vaccine Required.
No Requested Time Off (RTO) permitted during the initial 13-week contract.
Fingerprint clearance is required before the start date. Start date will be scheduled no sooner than six weeks after SEARHC receives fingerprint cards.
