Wastewater Field Service Technician — Lift Station Pilot Programs
Contract Position with Potential Full-Time Opportunity

A growing company is seeking a wastewater field technician with an engineering or technical background to support pilot programs at wastewater collection system lift stations.
Qualified candidates must have hands-on wastewater lift station experience, including knowledge of the installation, setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pumps, aeration, agitation, piping, controls, and related collection system equipment. Candidates should also have a basic working understanding of electrical and plumbing troubleshooting in field environments.
This is a field-based technical role. It is not a safety, environmental compliance, research, lab, or desk-based engineering position.
Please note: Applications that do not clearly demonstrate wastewater lift station experience and hands-on knowledge of pumps, aeration, agitation, piping, controls, electrical/plumbing troubleshooting, or related collection system equipment will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate wastewater lift station sites for pilot program readiness
- Set up and support pilot programs in the field
- Support installation, startup, adjustment, and troubleshooting of pilot equipment
- Work with pumps, aeration, agitation, piping, controls, and related lift station equipment
- Monitor pilot performance and document results
- Troubleshoot operational issues during pilots
- Communicate with municipal, industrial, and commercial site contacts
- Provide practical field feedback to company leadership
- Travel to wastewater collection sites as needed
Required Experience
- Hands-on experience with wastewater collection system lift stations
- Knowledge of pump installation, setup, operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
- Knowledge of aeration, agitation, piping, controls, or related lift station equipment
- Basic working understanding of electrical and plumbing troubleshooting in field environments
- Engineering background, technical training, or strong applied mechanical/system knowledge
- Ability to assess field conditions and solve practical technical problems
- Comfort working in active wastewater field environments
- Clear communication with site operators, customers, and company leadership
- Willingness to travel to pilot sites across the United States
Compensation
$65–$100 per hour, based on experience and contract structure. Approved travel expenses for pilot site work will be reimbursed separately.
