Full Job Description

Description

Charter Construction is a full-package concrete contractor that operates primarily in Middle Tennessee, working on a large variety of concrete-framed commercial structures. Charter offers a healthy work environment with an innovative spirit, competitive wages and benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. Charter is currently seeking to hire a VDC Coordinator responsible for concrete model and shop drawing creation and BIM coordination on individual construction projects.

Responsibilities

● Build 3D concrete models in Tekla Structures from design drawings and documents.

● Create 2D shop drawings from the 3D model in Tekla Structures to be used for layout in the field.

● Compare design drawings, identify discrepancies and errors, and clearly communicate questions to design team.

● Coordinate with VDC personnel from general contractors and other subcontractors.

● Work closely with Charter Project Manager during project planning and model creation.

● Create as-built models and drawings using data points provided by Charter layout personnel.

● Stay up to date with the latest VDC tools and technologies available and drive the implementation of new tools and technologies on Charter projects.

Requirements

● 2-3 years of experience with CAD programs either with a concrete subcontractor, general contractor/construction manager, or school/university that is construction focused.
