Position: Oral Surgery Scheduling Coordinator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Patient Coordination / Front Office

About the Position

We are seeking a highly organized, personable, and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, communicating with patients and referring dental offices, and helping ensure a smooth and efficient scheduling experience from consultation through surgery.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule consultations, surgical procedures, follow-up visits, and other patient appointments.
Coordinate surgery schedules with doctors, clinical staff, and referring dental offices.
Communicate appointment details and pre-operative instructions clearly to patients.
Verify patient information, insurance benefits, and required referrals or authorizations.
Provide accurate information regarding treatment scheduling, estimated costs, and office policies.
Handle incoming calls and assist patients with questions, concerns, and scheduling needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Coordinate cancellations, rescheduling, and waitlists to maximize the surgical schedule.
Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled treatment and upcoming procedures.
Maintain professional communication with referring offices and healthcare providers.
Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and office policies.
Support the front office team with additional administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dental, oral surgery, medical, or healthcare office preferred.
Scheduling or patient coordination experience strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Professional, friendly, and compassionate approach to patient care.
Comfortable discussing scheduling, insurance, and financial information with patients.
Proficiency with computers and dental/medical practice management software.
Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance is a plus.
