Salon Concierge / Front Desk

Black Lotus Braid Lounge

Job Type: Part-Time, W-2
Pay: $12.00 per hour
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, based on business needs
Reports To: Operations Management / Assistant Manager

About the Position

Black Lotus Braid Lounge is seeking a professional, organized, friendly, and self-motivated Salon Concierge to support our front desk and overall client experience.

This is not a position where you will sit behind a desk for the entire shift. Our Salon Concierge is the host of the salon and plays an active role in keeping the client experience organized, welcoming, clean, and professional.

We are looking for someone who can multitask, take initiative, and remain productive without needing constant supervision. When the salon is busy, you should be comfortable managing multiple priorities. When the salon is slower, you should naturally look for what needs to be done next.

Responsibilities

Greet and check in clients promptly and professionally.
Assist clients with online booking, QR codes, kiosk use, and appointment questions.
Assist with checkout and approved salon payment systems.
Answer general questions about salon services and policies.
Offer clients beverages, light snacks, belongings carts, and other available amenities.
Make rounds throughout the salon to ensure clients are comfortable.
Ensure clients receive our required warm towelette at the conclusion of their service.
Maintain an organized and professional front desk and waiting area.
Sweep hair and maintain clean salon floors throughout the day.
Wipe and sanitize chairs, carts, mirrors, counters, cabinets, kiosks, and high-touch areas as needed.
Help maintain retail displays and process retail purchases.
Assist with approved client photos and short videos using the salon iPad — personal devices are not permitted for client content.
Assist with Vinted Go customers and delivery drivers according to salon procedures.
Support current salon promotions and pass out flyers during designated downtime.
Professionally engage prospective clients and help generate bookings when appropriate.
Complete assigned side work and operational tasks.
Escalate client complaints or situations requiring authorization to Operations Management or the Assistant Manager.

An Important Part of This Role: Self-Management

We are specifically seeking someone who does not need to be constantly told what to do.

When immediate front-desk responsibilities are complete, you should be comfortable identifying productive tasks such as:

Checking on clients
Sweeping or straightening the salon
Organizing the front desk
Cleaning high-touch areas
Restocking or organizing supplies
Straightening retail displays
Reviewing upcoming appointments
Completing side work
Passing out promotional materials
Helping generate potential bookings

Downtime is still work time. Excessive personal phone use, social-media scrolling, gaming, or watching unrelated media while clocked in is not permitted.

Previous experience in a salon, spa, hospitality, retail, front desk, restaurant host, or customer-service environment is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong professionalism, initiative, and customer-service skills.

Work Environment

This is an active, client-facing salon position. The Salon Concierge regularly stands, walks throughout the salon, assists clients, uses computers and tablets, sweeps, wipes surfaces, organizes work areas, and supports day-to-day salon operations.

This position works collaboratively with our salon team but reports directly to Operations Management and/or the Assistant Manager.

Compensation & Schedule

$12.00 per hour
Part-time W-2 employment
Up to 30 hours per week
Hours are scheduled based on salon needs and business volume
Weekly hours are not guaranteed
