Full Job Description

We are looking for a professional House Director to live on-site and manage the day-to-day operations of a Sorority serving the University of Washington Alpha Delta Pi chapter. You will oversee house operations, maintenance, food service coordination, and provide mature support to collegiate members while maintaining a professional, non-disciplinary boundary.

Key Responsibilities

Live in the chapter house and maintain physical presence during the academic term (except university-declared breaks).
Supervise day-to-day house operations, maintenance, cleanliness, and food service; ensure the house remains orderly, clean, safe, and secure.
Oversee house operations - liaison with cleaning contractors and catering service.
Coordinate with the food service vendor/chef and Corporation Board on supplies, inventory (linens, dishes, etc.), repairs, and maintenance (repairs over $500 require board approval).
Manage keys/fob system, track and issue keys, open/close house around breaks, and oversee move-in/move-out and room check-outs.
Attend house director meetings,
Submit monthly reports to the Corporation Board, and attend board meetings when requested.
Be present as requested at major chapter events such as recruitment (House Tours, Preference, Bid Day), Inspiration Dinner, Holiday Dinner, Parents Weekend, Founders Day, Senior Dinner, and Greek Weekend events.
Assist with membership selection logistics (house presentation, setup, food if needed) and be available to meet potential members/parents when asked.
Provide mature counsel and assistance to members as requested; report house concerns to appropriate chapter or corporation contacts (no disciplinary role or involvement in internal chapter business).
Follow all policies and rules from the chapter, national organization, House Corporation, University of Washington, and local/state authorities.
Handle emergencies calmly and professionally; remain reachable by cell phone and able to return to the house within 60 minutes when away (except when sick or on approved time off).
Perform light physical tasks as needed (lift up to 25 lbs, walk the house, climb stairs, stand/squat/kneel/bend).
Other customary duties of a residential house director position.

Requirements

Ability and willingness to live full-time in the chapter house during the academic year (private quarters provided).
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently while collaborating with chapter officers and a volunteer board.
Professional demeanor; ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with collegiate members.
Experience supervising staff, coordinating vendors/maintenance, or managing residential facilities preferred.
Reliable, calm under pressure, and able to handle emergencies and quick decision-making.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and navigate a multi-level house.
Background check and ability to work legally in the United States required.
No pets, smoking, alcohol or legal drugs of any kind permitted at the house.

Schedule & Time Off

This is an exempt position expected to be fulfillable within a flexible ~40-hour week. You will have substantial personal time each day compatible with the live-in nature of the role. University break periods are paid time off. Additional limited weekend time off is available with notice (Employer covers substitute).

Benefits: Live-in private quarters (value not counted as compensation), same meal plan as chapter members, one parking space, phone stipend ($100/month), computer/printer/fax as business tools. Sick leave per Washington State law. University-aligned breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break) with no salary reduction + 4 weekends off per quarter (with advance notice; Employer pays for substitute).
