Full Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for analyzing facility performance, leading infrastructure improvement projects, supporting maintenance strategies, and driving reliability initiatives. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, optimizing energy usage, and ensuring facility systems support uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, evaluate, and improve facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and fire protection systems.

· Support the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

· Analyze facility performance data and implement engineering solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability.

· Lead and support facility-related projects including infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and energy efficiency initiatives.

· Conduct root cause analysis for facility system failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

· Collaborate with maintenance, production, and safety teams to ensure facility systems meet operational requirements.

· Develop and maintain technical documentation including system layouts, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures.

· Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for installation, repair, and upgrade activities.

· Support facility compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

· Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.

· Assist in budgeting, cost analysis, and capital planning for facility projects.

· Provide technical support and guidance to Facilities Technicians and maintenance personnel.

· Monitor and improve energy consumption and utility usage to drive cost savings and sustainability initiatives.

· Ensure proper operation and maintenance of critical systems to support business continuity.

· Participate in emergency response and ensure facility readiness for operational contingencies.

Experience

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facilities engineering, industrial infrastructure, or building systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Experience working with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and utility systems.

· Experience managing or supporting facility-related projects and contractor activities.

· Experience with preventive maintenance systems and reliability improvement initiatives preferred.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required.

· Relevant certifications in facilities management or engineering are a plus.

Qualifications and Skills

· Strong knowledge of industrial facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and compressed air systems.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis.

· Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.

· Experience with project management, including planning, execution, and contractor coordination.

· Familiarity with safety and compliance standards such as OSHA and NFPA.

· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

· Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools.

· Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred.

· Understanding of energy management and sustainability practices.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to operational challenges.

· Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on short-, medium-, and long-term projects.

· Knowledge of building codes and infrastructure regulations.

· Ability to manage projects from concept through implementation.

· Resource planning and material requirement management.

· Preparation of progress reports and technical documentation.

· Availability to travel as required.

· Schedule flexibility as needed.
