Full Job Description

Position Title: Data Entry Operator

Position Summary

The Data Entry Operator is responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining data from a variety of source documents into computer systems to support business operations and client requirements. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet productivity standards while ensuring timely delivery of quality work.

Essential Responsibilities

Accurately enter data from paper documents, scanned images, and other source materials into designated computer systems.
Input customer, account, and other required information using alphabetic and numeric keyboard entry according to established formats and procedures.
Follow client-specific instructions, data entry guidelines, and quality standards to ensure accurate data processing.
Read, interpret, and follow written instructions for various data formats and projects.
Interpret handwritten documents to the best of your ability while maintaining accuracy standards.
Work efficiently across multiple data entry applications and systems as business needs require.
Verify entered data and make corrections when necessary to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review source documents for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before and during data entry.
Meet established productivity and quality performance standards.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive client and company information.
Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous data entry experience preferred.
Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (WPM).
Ability to consistently maintain 99% or higher accuracy.
Basic computer proficiency, including keyboarding and navigation between multiple applications.
Working knowledge of keyboard shortcuts (hot keys) and standard data entry terminology.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to transition efficiently between different data formats and projects.
Dependable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible to work varying schedules based on business needs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This position is primarily sedentary and performed in a professional office environment.
Requires continuous computer use and keyboarding for the majority of the workday (approximately 100%).
Requires frequent sitting, repetitive hand and finger movements, and sustained visual concentration.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed and accuracy.
