Transportation Dispatcher – Adult Day Care

Position: Transportation Dispatcher
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $25 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate transportation services for our adult day care. The dispatcher will communicate with drivers, participants, families, and staff to ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily transportation schedules and routes for participants.
Assign transportation trips and communicate schedules to drivers.
Monitor drivers and vehicles throughout the day and respond to schedule changes or delays.
Communicate with participants, families, caregivers, and staff regarding transportation arrangements.
Handle incoming transportation calls and respond to questions or concerns professionally.
Maintain accurate transportation logs, trip records, and attendance information.
Track pick-ups, drop-offs, cancellations, and changes to daily schedules.
Notify appropriate staff of delays, incidents, or transportation concerns.
Assist with resolving scheduling conflicts and last-minute transportation needs.
Ensure transportation procedures are followed consistently.
Maintain confidentiality of participant information.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous dispatching, transportation coordination, scheduling, or administrative experience preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills
Professional and courteous telephone manner.
Ability to work effectively with older adults, families, caregivers, and drivers.
Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an adult day care, senior center, medical transportation, or similar setting.
Familiarity with local roads and surrounding communities.
Experience coordinating transportation for seniors or individuals with special needs.
