Full Job Description

Overview:

The Front Office Receptionist serves as initial contact for patients and visitors, greeting them in a courteous and professional manner. Performs general clinic duties including scheduling and rescheduling of patients, answering and directing phone calls, and obtaining all necessary information to register and bill clients including insurance eligibility, benefits, prior authorization and valid prescription. Responsible for overseeing maintenance and resupply of needed office and clinical supplies and will help to ensure that all treatment areas are kept clean and meet required infection control standards.

Responsibilities:

Serves as initial contact for patients and visitors, greeting them in a courteous and professional manner. Answers and directs phone calls. Ensures that all patients are properly registered in Paragon and schedules patients to ensure efficiency and maximize productivity.

Initiates data collection for billing and clinicians and provides information to patients and families of the process regarding patient care. Responsible for making necessary inquiries regarding eligibility on a monthly basis, awareness of benefits and co-pays, and obtaining prior authorizations for services and equipment as needed. Will ensure payment of copays/payments and equipment at time of service.

Participates in the daily billing process for inpatient and outpatient therapies including charge entry and resolving inconsistencies with the billing office. Works directly with clinicians, regarding Redoc and billing questions/issues.

Sees that a hard copy of medical record is built, maintained and stored according to all regulatory standards. Works closely with Medical records department to scan necessary info in a timely fashion.

Ensures all public areas including gym and treatment areas are kept clean and meet all required infection control standards.

Assists in the maintenance and resupply of necessary office and clinical supplies. Ensures that the physical plant is maintained and will send requests to Engineering/BioMEd in a timely fashion.

Actively participates in monthly staff meetings.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One to two years of previous, similar work preferably in a medical office setting.
Licenses & Certifications: BLS Certified
Required Skills & Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizations skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage priorities and workflow, flexibility and willingness to work within a changing schedule, proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of medical terminology a plus, professional appearance and demeanor, must be bilingual in Spanish.

Compensation: Actual compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package. Minimum:: USD $30.49 Maximum:: USD $39.64
