Job Overview

Ponderosa Wood is seeking a motivated and results-driven Territory Sales Manager – Building Materials to manage and grow our established Orlando, Jacksonville, and Northeast Florida territory.

This position is ideal for an experienced outside sales professional who understands the building materials industry and knows how to develop long-term relationships with dealers, lumberyards, millwork companies, door shops.

This is an established territory with existing customers and active business, offering significant opportunity for additional growth. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for strengthening current customer relationships, expanding product penetration within existing accounts, and actively developing new business throughout the territory.

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of a territory—not simply manage incoming orders.

Responsibilities

Manage and grow existing customer accounts throughout Orlando, Jacksonville, and Northeast Florida.
Develop new business with building-material dealers, lumberyards, millwork companies, door shops, and other industry professionals.
Maintain a consistent presence in the territory through regular in-person customer visits.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
Identify opportunities to expand sales and introduce additional Ponderosa Wood products within existing accounts.
Prospect for new customers and develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
Present Ponderosa Wood's mouldings, doors, jambs, wood products, and other specialty building-material programs.
Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
Prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, and negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines.
Maintain accurate customer information, sales opportunities, follow-ups, and account activity.
Coordinate closely with customer service, logistics, warehouse, and management teams to provide excellent customer support.
Monitor competitor activity, market pricing, product trends, and changing customer demand within the territory.
Provide management with market feedback, sales forecasts, and new product or business-development opportunities.
Maintain responsible oversight of customer accounts, including payment performance and overall account standing.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of B2B outside sales experience, preferably within building materials, millwork, doors, lumber, construction products, or a related industry.
Experience selling to building-material dealers, lumberyards, millwork companies, contractors, builders, or door shops is strongly preferred.
Existing customer relationships within the Orlando and/or Jacksonville building-material markets are a significant advantage.
Strong relationship-building and account-management skills.
Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of independently managing a geographic sales territory.
Comfortable using business-management systems to manage customer relationships, opportunities, and follow-up activities.
Ability to understand product specifications and effectively communicate product benefits to customers.
Strong awareness of market conditions, competitive products, and customer needs.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
