Full Job Description

Cabinet Layout Designer

Position Summary

The Cabinet Layout Designer is responsible for turning customer measurements, ideas, and project requirements into accurate, professional cabinet layouts using SketchUp. This position supports the sales process by helping customers visualize their space and giving the sales team the information needed to develop accurate cabinet quotes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with measurements and dimensions, and able to create practical cabinet layouts efficiently. Cabinet or construction experience is helpful, but strong computer skills, spatial awareness, and a willingness to learn are equally important.

Key Responsibilities

Create cabinet layouts and 3D models in SketchUp based on customer-provided measurements, drawings, photos, and project information.
Lay out base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall cabinets, islands, appliances, fillers, panels, and other components while following available cabinet sizes and specifications.
Produce clear, professional layouts that help customers visualize their finished kitchen, bathroom, or other cabinetry project.
Review measurements and project information for missing details or potential issues before completing a design.
Work with the sales team to clarify customer needs and make layout revisions.
Make changes to designs based on customer or salesperson feedback.
Ensure cabinet layouts are practical and account for doors, windows, appliances, walkways, clearances, and other job-site conditions.
Maintain organized SketchUp files and project information.
Complete layouts in a timely manner so leads and quotes can move through the sales process quickly.
Learn and stay familiar with the company's cabinet lines, available sizes, accessories, finishes, and design limitations.
Help identify potential design or measurement problems before cabinets are quoted or ordered.

Qualifications

Experience with SketchUp is preferred, but training may be provided for the right candidate.
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.
Good understanding of measurements, fractions, dimensions, and basic geometry.
Strong spatial awareness and ability to visualize a finished space from measurements or drawings.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to follow established design standards and processes.
Good communication skills and ability to work closely with sales staff.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize layouts based on sales needs.
Cabinetry, kitchen design, construction, drafting, CAD, or remodeling experience is a plus.

Monday – Friday 7am-3pm

In Office Position

Starting Pay - $55,000 Salary
