Riggs Roadside Assistance is hiring a dependable and motivated Roadside Assistance Technician to join our team. We are a family-owned and operated roadside assistance company serving York County and surrounding areas. Our technicians help stranded motorists get safely back on the road while providing professional, respectful, and dependable service.
Position Responsibilities
As a Roadside Assistance Technician, you will respond to roadside service calls including:
- Flat tire changes
- Vehicle jump-starts
- Auto lockouts
- Emergency fuel delivery
- Mobile battery testing and replacement
- Basic roadside troubleshooting
- Occasional minor winch-outs and roadside assistance situations
- Taking required before-and-after photographs of service calls
- Communicating professionally with customers and dispatch
- Keeping accurate records of completed service calls
This position does not involve towing. Applicants should be comfortable working independently and solving problems in the field.

Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Current smartphone with reliable service
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Ability to safely change a tire, jump-start a vehicle, perform a lockout, and deliver fuel
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Reliable communication with dispatch and customers
Equipment
Applicants with their own basic roadside equipment are preferred. Useful equipment includes:
- Jump pack
- 2-ton or larger floor jack — 3-ton preferred
- Impact wrench
- Lug nut and socket set
- Lockout kit
- Gas can
- Basic hand tools and socket/ratchet set
- Safety equipment
Additional training can be provided on company procedures and expectations.
Schedule
This is a full-time roadside service position. Our normal operating schedule is approximately 7:00 AM–9:00 PM, with technicians working assigned days and rotating weekends. Applicants must have reasonable flexibility because roadside assistance call volume can change from day to day.
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience, reliability, availability, and ability to perform roadside services safely and professionally.
