Construction Quality Control Manager – Construction (Charleston, SC)

Base Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 with 0-20% Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a prominent, locally owned general contractor based in Charleston, South Carolina. Established for over 40 years, they are recognized as one of the largest and most trusted builders in the region, specializing in ground-up commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects. They are known for their collaborative approach, high standards, and commitment to delivering quality projects for repeat clients.

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to ensure the highest standards of quality across active construction projects. This role is primarily field-based (80% in the field, 20% in office) and is ideal for an experienced construction professional who excels at quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control programs for ground-up construction projects.
Perform regular site inspections, audits, and quality reviews throughout all phases of construction.
Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality issues.
Maintain detailed quality documentation, reports, and compliance records.
Ensure projects meet or exceed contract specifications, codes, and client expectations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and help uphold the company’s reputation for excellence.

Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience in construction quality control or related roles.
Strong background in commercial or healthcare construction projects preferred.
Deep knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and quality standards.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in the field.
Proficiency with construction management software and reporting tools.
Relevant certifications (e.g., QC, OSHA) are a plus.
