Full Job Description

Lead 4K Teacher

About St. Martin's Preschool:

We are looking for a lead 4K teacher who is experienced in teaching 4K. Our 4K class size is 12 children with one lead teacher and 1 assistant teacher.

Our core hours are 8:30-4:30. We have early care 7:30-8:30 and aftercare 4:30-5:30 which we rotate staff to cover. We follow Richland 1's calendar for closures. You will get paid for major holidays, 3 days for Thaksgiving, 2 weeks for Christmas break, and 1 week for Spring Break plus 5 days of PTO you may use after 90 days. You also have 5 sick days.

Duties:

- Develop and follow a daily schedule on a consistent basis
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans using SC Early Learning Standards, follow ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum. 4K uses Zoo Phonics as well. You may adapt the lessons to meet the interests of your students as long as you are teaching the same objectives listed in the curriculum.

-- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students

-- Complete assessments included in curriculum
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning atmosphere
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and administration
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience - Update the Brightwheel app with daily happenings, pictures, monthly calendar and parent
newsletter. - Contribute to a loving and supportive work environment

Education:

An AA degree in Early Childhood Education is required for the 4K lead teacher position. Pay ranges between $17-$17.50/hour based on experience. $18 for a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. 1 year experience as a lead 4K teacher is required. Professional references required.

Experience:

- Ability to teach "friendship skills" and help children learn to manage their emotions and make good choices
- Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to educate and engage students of various ages and abilities
