Pergola is a locally owned, chef-driven restaurant founded by a husband-and-wife team passionate about bringing people together through exceptional food, thoughtful beverages, and genuine hospitality. Our menu celebrates modern American, farm-to-table cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and producers whenever possible.

Our beverage program is equally intentional. Our craft cocktail menu has been developed by a renowned mixologist, while our wine list, curated by an Advanced Sommelier from Napa Valley, highlights biodynamic, organic, and natural wines from around the world. Beyond the dining room, we are deeply invested in our community and strive to create meaningful connections with every guest who walks through our doors.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and hospitality-driven Bartender to join our team. This position is about far more than mixing drinks—it is about creating memorable guest experiences through warm hospitality, beverage expertise, and genuine enthusiasm for our food and beverage program.

The ideal candidate is curious about craft cocktails, appreciates thoughtful wine service, enjoys educating guests, and believes that every interaction is an opportunity to make someone's day better.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve handcrafted cocktails with consistency, precision, and attention to detail.
Confidently recommend cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages that complement guests' dining experiences.
Develop a strong understanding of our farm-to-table menu and seasonal offerings to provide thoughtful pairings.
Learn and communicate the stories behind our biodynamic, organic, and natural wine selections.
Deliver warm, authentic hospitality that exceeds guest expectations.
Build relationships with regular guests while creating welcoming experiences for first-time visitors.
Maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked bar that reflects the highest standards of professionalism.
Follow all recipes, service standards, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service.
Participate in ongoing beverage education, tastings, and training opportunities.
Represent the restaurant's values both inside the restaurant and during community events when applicable.

Qualifications

Previous bartending experience in an upscale casual or full-service restaurant preferred.
Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.
Interest in wine (advanced wine knowledge is a plus but not required).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and composure.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
