Are you a strategic sourcing professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy building supplier partnerships, driving cost savings, and making an impact on a global supply chain?

Suominen is looking for a Manager, Indirect Sourcing to join our team and help shape the future of our procurement strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated sourcing professional to lead strategic initiatives, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement across our global organization.

This is a global opportunity open to candidates located within commuting distance of one of our Suominen locations. While this role may offer flexibility, the successful candidate should be able to travel to a Suominen office location occasionally for business needs, meetings, and collaboration with internal teams.

About the Role

As the Manager, Indirect Sourcing, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives, improve supply chain performance, and deliver measurable value. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and enhance supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing, procurement, and supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
Manage a diverse supplier base across multiple indirect categories and commodities.
Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry insights to support contract negotiations related to pricing, terms, delivery, quality, and cost.
Lead cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings while ensuring continuity of supply.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
Partner with Process Technology, Asset Management, and ICT teams to support new asset and service development.
Promote Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) to improve project timelines, supplier collaboration, and overall outcomes.
Develop sourcing processes and guidelines that support operational excellence and working capital objectives.
Support sustainability initiatives and ensure supplier alignment with corporate and customer expectations.
Drive the Suominen savings program by establishing targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, environmental, and company policies.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Proven experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, supplier development, and strategic sourcing.
Experience working with MRP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
Certifications such as APICS, ISM, or CPIM are preferred.
Strong project management skills with the ability to identify priorities and execute strategic initiatives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, packaging, or MRO environments preferred.
Willingness to travel to suppliers and Suominen locations globally.
