Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Accounts Receivable including customer invoicing, cost analysis, customer collections, as well as general accounting support functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Batching, coding and entering customer invoices.
Job costing review to determine accuracy and completeness of costs captured and correct bill rates are invoiced.
Research and resolve accounts receivable issues with customers.
Work with customers and salespeople on all collection efforts.
Compile and record cash receipts for payments received.

· Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies.

· Work cohesively with other departments/customers.

· Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies

· MS Office and general knowledge of accounting systems and processes.

· Intermediate knowledge of Excel is highly desirable including using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets.

· Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors.

· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.

· Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.

· Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in a positive manner; listens and gets clarification if uncertain of direction; communicates and explains reports and responds well to questions.

· Initiative – Volunteers readily; undertakes self-development activities; seeks increased responsibilities; takes independent actions and calculated risks; looks for and takes advantages of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· QuickBooks experience is highly desirable.

· Associate degree in Business or Accounting preferred or 5 years related experience in accounts receivable and collections.

Computer Skills:

· Strong data entry and computer skills and the ability to learn new software

· Ability to process a variety of file-based data sources

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
