Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Whole Child Therapy, Inc. is hiring a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our school-based team serving students at a non-public school partner site in the Inland Empire. This is a direct-service position: you carry a caseload of individual and small-group speech and language sessions on a school-day schedule, with prep and documentation time built into your paid day.

You will not be pulled into IEP meetings or assessments. Those responsibilities belong to our supervising SLP. Your day is designed around the students on your schedule and the time it takes to serve them well.

WHY THERAPISTS STAY WITH US

Guaranteed paid hours. You are paid for your full 7-hour day whether or not every student shows up. Absences and no-shows are our problem to solve, not a hit to your paycheck.
Real prep and documentation time. Prep, documentation, and administrative time are scheduled inside your paid day. You are not writing notes at home.
Supervision that is paid for and actually happens. A dedicated WCT-employed supervising SLP is assigned to you, with regular scheduled supervision meeting California SLPA regulations and ASHA guidance. Supervision is our cost, never yours, and never unpaid time.
A protected scope. Direct treatment only. IEP meetings, assessments, and report writing are handled by our supervising SLP.
New graduates are genuinely supported. Structured onboarding, materials support, and a supervising SLP who expects to teach. New graduates and first-year SLPAs are encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU BRING

Current California SLPA license issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (required, or license in process with an anticipated issue date).
Associate degree in an SLPA program or bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with completed SLPA field work.
Current CPR certification, TB clearance, and DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance, or willingness to obtain prior to start.
Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
Experience with AAC, preferred but not required. Training provided.
Bilingual Spanish, preferred but not required. Differential available.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, following the school-year calendar of approximately 35 service weeks.
Hours: 7 paid hours per day. Student service window is 8:15 AM to 2:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and the balance of the day paid as prep and documentation time.
Pay: $35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience. W2 employee, not a contractor.
Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage on the same plans offered to our district and clinic therapists.
Paid time off: 6 paid holidays, 10 days PTO, 6 sick days, and 1 paid back-to-school professional development day.
Bonus: Eligible for our performance bonus program.
Supervision: Supervision hours, supervision documentation, and license-required supervisory contact are provided and paid by Whole Child Therapy.

Requirements:

Provide direct speech and language intervention to students individually and in small groups of up to three, following treatment plans written by the supervising SLP.
Implement goals and strategies as written, and communicate promptly with your supervising SLP when a plan needs adjustment.
Collect session data and complete documentation the same day, using the time scheduled in your paid day.
Prepare therapy materials and adapt activities to each student's communication profile, including AAC users.
Coordinate with classroom teachers, instructional aides, and behavior staff to carry communication targets into the classroom.
Maintain your assigned schedule, track student attendance, and schedule make-up sessions into open slots.
Participate in scheduled supervision, complete required supervision documentation, and practice within the California SLPA scope of practice at all times.
