The City of Azusa’s Administrative Services Department is seeking a dependable and motivated Temporary Part-Time Storekeeper to support daily warehouse and delivery functions. This hands-on position plays an important role in maintaining the efficient flow of materials and supplies for City departments and facilities. Responsibilities include receiving and organizing deliveries, preparing and transporting supplies to various City locations, and assisting with general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, customer service oriented, and comfortable performing physical work in a fast-paced environment.
SALARY INFORMATION
$32.40 - $39.38 Hourly
Please Note: Part-time employees cannot work more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year, serve at will, and are exempt from the Civil Service System.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of purchasing tasks; conducts storekeeping activities including the receipt, inspection, delivery, pick-up, inventory, storage, and issuance of stock; performs related duties as required.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
The Storekeeper classification is assigned to the Purchasing Division of the Administrative Services Department and performs structured tasks to ensure purchased items are properly delivered, inspected, recorded and distributed to City divisions and departments. Incumbents communicate with department representatives and works with approved vendors.
SUPERVISION EXCERCISED
Receives supervision from the Purchasing Supervisor. Exercises no supervision. Receives work guidance from Senior Storekeeper.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receives, orders, stocks, issues and delivers supplies, materials and parts; examines and inspects shipment for condition, shortages and discrepancies; prepares materials for shipment; follows-up on overdue shipments.

Issues tools and supplies; responds to questions regarding stock items.

Checks stock items for reordering and places orders; contacts local vendors to obtain best price for inventory items not in stock; makes purchases of parts and materials; maintains stock records.

Conducts periodic inventory and prepares inventory reports.

Operates storeroom equipment, including a forklift and van.

Utilizes computer to record and track receipts; monitors purchasing history and inventory.

Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience

Education: HS/GED.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in storekeeping and inventory control.
Licenses or Certification

Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Forklift Operator License.
