Full Job Description

The House of Hope Executive Team is excited to announce a leadership opening for Residential Clinical Director for the oldest women’s residential program in Utah. We invite experienced clinicians who are committed to a strengths-based, solution-focused model of trauma-informed care for women in substance use disorders and behavioral health treatment to apply for this supervisory position in Salt Lake City.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as clinical director of the residential treatment team of twelve including therapists, case managers, group specialists, and interns.
Responsible for training, clinical and functional supervision, hiring and evaluating employees to promote unity, contract compliance, and program growth.
Ensures that treatment service delivery meets the requirements for levels of care and best practices for recovery services for women.
Provide leadership and structure for the community of women in treatment such that a safe, motivating, healing environment is maintained despite inherent conflicts and challenges of those in early recovery.
Provide direct clinical supervision for all staff on the residential treatment team at various stages of professional licensure and development to ensure that staff follow all policies, procedures, and protocols.
Assist with assessments and intakes and approve placement and level of care.
Responsible for the quality and quantity of all charting including authorizations, assessments, treatment planning.
Review discharges, court reports, daily notes, and all other documentation required by all funding sources.
Attends monthly coordination and leadership meetings
Represents HOH and client interests in the community and partners with other agencies such as drug courts, DCFS, AP&P, Workforce Services, and other medical and mental health partners in Salt Lake County.
Work to expand program to serve more women and offer additional services with strategic planning for credentialing, program evaluation and compliance with recovery systems of care.

Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and caring clinicians who can both complete the following requirements and add to our culture of caring and understanding:

At least three years’ experience in staff supervision and program management.
Licensed in good standing in Utah; licensed as an LCSW, MFT or CMHC for a minimum of 5 years (Utah Law requires that fully licensed therapists must hold that license for two years of full-time experience before working as a supervisor, see dopl.utah.gov for more information).
Experienced with 5+ years in human service field, preferably in substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Organized, innovative and adept at communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be adept at managing crises and resolving conflicts in a calm professional manner, able to balance multiple priorities and generally oversee the details of a healthy treatment community with the overall goal of empowering women.
Able to communicate effectively and professionally in person and in writing,
Proficient with computer and clinical documentation skills.
Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women in recovery.

Agency Requirements

Non-smoking worksite: no tobacco products allowed.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must pass extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check and drug test.
If in recovery, must have at least 2+ years of continuous sobriety.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
Must have own reliable transportation, current driver’s license, clean driving record and willing to transport clients in own car and agency vehicles on occasion.
Must be able to adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
Must have a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges.

Education Required

Master’s degree and Utah licensure in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health, or Marriage and Family Therapy

Hours & Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional on-call responsibilities. Due to the nature of our treatment program, this is role is on-site in Salt Lake City (no remote work).

Wages & Benefits

$90K-$110K wage with an additional $32K in paid benefits

Full-time benefits package, including:
