Full Job Description

Customer Service & Scheduling Coordinator (CSR)
Location: Bound Brook, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday - 30 Hours a week
Pay: $20-$23 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

JDP Electric is hiring a Customer Service Representative to support scheduling, customer communication, operational and dispatching procedures, and outbound follow-up.

This role is operationally critical. You'll work directly alongside our team to maximize our booking rate, follow up on open estimates, confirm upcoming appointments, and help move jobs from inquiry to scheduled — every single day. You'll play a supporting role in ongoing company projects and are expected to help maintain organized systems for documents, job files, and internal records.

This is not a passive phone-answering role. We need someone who is organized, has a sense of urgency, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of their part of the revenue process.

Core Responsibilities

Inbound Operations

Answer all incoming calls using approved greeting.
Be fluent in objection handling.
Capture accurate customer information and book calls efficiently.
Set expectations clearly regarding service fees and arrival windows.
Notify customers promptly of schedule changes.
Debrief technicians after each call and confirm payment collection.
Maintain organized customer notes inside our CRM (Housecall Pro).

Scheduling & Dispatch Support

Assist with dispatching service and maintenance calls.
Optimize technician routes for efficiency without compromising customer experience.
Manage the afternoon schedule to reduce gaps and downtime.

Shift Transition & Team Coordination

Work closely with the morning CSR to ensure seamless daily transition.
Review what occurred during the early shift and fully understand the current job status, open estimates, call backs, and scheduling changes.
Properly document updates so the next morning shift is set up for success.
Prepare the schedule and notes so the team can execute efficiently when Melissa returns the following day.
Maintain clear, proactive communication with office staff and field technicians.

Outbound & Sales Support

Follow up on open estimates.
Make outbound calls to unscheduled leads.
Rehash unclosed jobs and support outbound sales efforts.
Help improve booking conversion on service fee calls.

Additional Responsibilities

Complete tasks designated by the Marketing & Sales Manager.
Provide general administrative support as needed.

Requirements

Prior CSR or call center experience preferred.
Sales experience is a plus.
Strong phone presence and ability to control a conversation.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Comfortable making outbound calls.
Basic computer competency (CRM experience preferred).
Able to work independently and during afternoon hours.
Reliable transportation to Bound Brook.

Ideal Candidate

Understands urgency in home service scheduling.
Works well within a team and values smooth shift transitions.
Comfortable following structured scripts while thinking independently.
Can handle minor customer tension calmly.
Views this as an operations and revenue-support role, not “just answering phones.”
