Full Job Description

Job Description
We are a growing Asian snack company located in South San Francisco, expanding across national and regional retail channels. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations across two affiliated companies while supporting financial planning and analysis to help drive business growth.

This role combines accounting leadership with direct responsibility for key accounting functions. The ideal candidate has a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude, exceptional attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. They are comfortable owning the monthly close process, improving accounting processes, preparing accurate financial reports, and partnering with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the company's accounting operations, including the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for two affiliated entities.
Prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) and management reports.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Prepare and post journal entries, including revenue recognition, accruals, payroll allocations, and prepaid/fixed asset schedules.
Manage the AP cycle and review vendor invoices, maintaining hands-on responsibility for processing payment runs (check runs, ACH, and wire transfers) and ensuring accurate GL posting.
Oversee accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, cash management, and payroll accounting to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Monitor daily cash positions, assist with rolling cash flow forecasts, and review weekly payment runs.
Manage inventory accounting, including COGS, inventory valuation, and adjustments
Review intercompany transactions and ensure proper reconciliation between entities
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax preparers
Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and other special projects as assigned.

This is an in-office position (no remote work).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accounting management or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience using NetSuite ERP or equivalent accounting software is required.
Ability to independently manage assigned accounting responsibilities while overseeing the overall accounting function.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Bilingual in Chinese preferred
