About Anderson Bradshaw Consulting

Anderson Bradshaw Consulting is a tax resolution firm based in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles. For more than 12 years, we have helped individuals and businesses resolve complex tax matters and regain control of their financial lives.

Our team includes approximately 30 in-office and remote employees. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to manage essential HR functions, with a particular emphasis on recruiting, employee onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, and HR compliance.

This role is best suited for an HR professional who is comfortable working independently, managing detailed administrative responsibilities, and partnering directly with company leadership and department managers.

Primary Responsibilities

Recruiting and Hiring Support

Recruiting will be a significant part of this position, particularly for sales roles.

Responsibilities include:

Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements and candidate profiles
Draft, post, and maintain job advertisements
Review applications and identify qualified candidates
Conduct initial candidate screenings
Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process
Conduct professional reference checks
Coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements
Maintain organized candidate records and recruiting documentation
Assist leadership in improving recruiting processes and reducing time-to-hire

Employee Onboarding

Own the administrative onboarding process and help ensure each new employee receives a professional, organized introduction to the company.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and distribute new-hire paperwork
Coordinate completion of employment forms and required documentation
Set up employees in ADP and applicable HR systems
Confirm payroll, tax withholding, direct deposit, and benefits information
Coordinate required training and policy acknowledgments
Communicate onboarding schedules and first-day expectations
Coordinate with department managers to ensure new employees have the information and resources needed to begin work
Track onboarding progress and follow up on incomplete requirements
Maintain accurate and complete personnel files

Employee Offboarding

Prepare and process separation documentation
Coordinate final payroll and benefit-related requirements
Collect required company documentation and acknowledgments
Confirm the return of company property with the appropriate manager
Remove employees from applicable HR systems
Maintain accurate termination and separation records
Help ensure offboarding is handled consistently, professionally, and in compliance with applicable requirements

Payroll Administration

Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for a workforce that includes hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees.

Responsibilities include:

Review payroll information before processing
Process hourly, salaried, and commission compensation
Review timecards, paid time off, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and payroll changes
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Coordinate payroll corrections when necessary
Maintain accurate payroll records
Respond to employee payroll questions
Ensure new hires, terminations, leaves, and compensation changes are properly reflected in payroll

Time and Attendance

Review and edit employee timecards
Monitor missing punches and incomplete time entries
Track employee absences, tardiness, and attendance patterns
Identify repeated attendance or timekeeping concerns for management review
Review and audit paid time off balances and requests
Support managers with consistent application of attendance policies
Review existing time and attendance procedures and recommend improvements that support business needs

Benefits Administration

Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and eligibility
Manage the administrative aspects of annual Open Enrollment
Provide employees with required benefits notices and enrollment information
Coordinate with the company’s benefits broker and insurance providers
Process employee benefit additions, changes, and terminations
Maintain benefits documentation and enrollment records
Assist employees with routine benefits questions and direct complex matters to the appropriate provider

HR Systems and Compliance Administration

Maintain employee information in ADP and other HR systems
Monitor HR system notifications, deadlines, and required tasks
Review and interpret HR, payroll, and benefits-related invoices
Audit completion of mandatory employee training
Conduct quarterly verification of employee tax and payroll information
Maintain organized and confidential employee records
Track required notices, acknowledgments, and compliance documentation
Assist with updating HR forms, processes, policies, and internal procedures

Employee Relations and Specialty HR Matters

Provide administrative and procedural support for employee matters as needed, including:

Employee complaints and workplace concerns
Harassment complaints and related documentation
Workers’ compensation matters
Disability leaves and accommodations
Third-party sick pay
Leave documentation and coordination
Policy interpretation and employee communication

This position will work with company leadership and outside professionals when a matter requires legal, benefits, insurance, or specialized HR guidance.

Required Qualifications

At least three years of hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now or Run Powered by ADP (preferably RunADP)
At least two years of payroll processing experience
Experience processing payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees
Demonstrated experience recruiting, screening, and onboarding employees
Experience supporting both remote and in-office employees
Working knowledge of timekeeping, paid time off, benefits administration, and employee recordkeeping
Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear and professional written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through without extensive supervision
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting a small or midsized professional services organization
Experience recruiting sales professionals
Familiarity with California employment practices and required employee notices
Experience administering workers’ compensation, disability, leave, or third-party sick-pay matters
Experience reviewing or improving HR policies and processes

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will create a more organized and dependable employee experience from recruitment through separation. New hires will move through the recruiting and onboarding process efficiently, payroll and employee records will be accurate, compliance responsibilities will be completed on time, and managers will receive practical HR support when employee issues arise.

Pay: $36.00 - $42.00 per hour
