Social Media & Marketing Intern (Part-Time)

Hudson, MA

Pay: $16.50/hour
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15–25 hours/week
Position Type: Paid Internship with opportunity for long-term growth

If you love photography, social media trends, and creating fun, engaging content, this is an opportunity to make a real impact at a growing local bakery.

Harvard Sweet Boutique creates Scratch-Made Luxury for Life’s Sweetest Moments. We specialize in bespoke celebration cakes, custom desserts, sweet favors, and nationally shipped cookie gift boxes.

With a strong reputation for creativity, craftsmanship, and a unique online presence, we are looking for someone excited to help us continue growing our brand and sharing the magic behind what we do.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Social Media & Marketing Intern to support our day-to-day marketing efforts. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating beautiful content, staying current with social media trends, and collaborating on ideas that help a brand stand out.

The ideal candidate is someone who is excited to take ownership of projects, bring fresh ideas to the table, and help continue growing Harvard Sweet Boutique’s online presence.

Responsibilities

Create engaging photo and video content featuring our cakes, cookies, desserts, bakery environment, and behind-the-scenes moments
Assist with planning and creating social media content for Instagram and Facebook
Help manage and respond to customer messages through Shopify and social media platforms
Create branded graphics and marketing materials using Canva
Assist with email marketing campaigns through Shopify Email, including newsletters, promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns
Support the creation of content calendars and organize upcoming posts and campaigns
Collaborate with the bakery team to brainstorm creative ideas and new ways to showcase our products
Stay aware of current social media trends and identify opportunities to incorporate them into our brand
Help maintain the high-quality, luxury, and whimsical aesthetic that Harvard Sweet Boutique is known for
Occasionally assist with additional marketing projects, events, promotions, or community outreach initiatives

Qualifications

Strong creative eye and passion for creating engaging content
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a small, energetic team
Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects
Comfortable taking initiative and bringing new ideas forward
Interest in social media, branding, photography, content creation, or marketing
Ability to work independently while staying connected with the team
Positive attitude and excitement for helping grow a local small business

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating social media content for a personal brand, business, or organization
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and current social media trends
Experience using Canva or other design tools
Basic photography/video skills or interest in improving those skills
Experience with Shopify, Meta Business Suite, email marketing platforms, or analytics tools
Background in marketing, communications, graphic design, photography, or a related field (helpful but not required)
