Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Sushi Chef, where your passion for Japanese cuisine and mastery of sushi preparation will shine! In this role, you will craft exquisite sushi dishes that delight our guests and elevate their dining experience. Your expertise in knife skills, ingredient selection, and presentation will be essential in maintaining our high standards of quality and authenticity. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to share their love of sushi with others.

Duties

Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used according to safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station to meet health regulations
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow
Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep menus exciting
Train junior staff on proper sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards
Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
Strong knowledge of sushi ingredients, techniques, and food safety protocols
Ability to develop creative sushi recipes and adapt to menu changes
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation
Experience with classroom management or teaching culinary skills is a plus
Familiarity with culinary standards for working with fresh seafood and perishable ingredients
Passion for continuous learning about culinary trends, including photography of dishes for promotional purposes
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality standards
